Good news for all you Windows Phone users out there. Nokia is rolling out an update to its HERE suite of apps on Windows Phone which comprises of HERE Maps, HERE Drive+, HERE Transit & HERE City Lens. There are a couple of good improvements which this update is bringing. Lets have a look at them below.
- HERE Drive+ and HERE Transit are now free for Windows Phone 8.0 devices. Earlier both the apps were made free for Windows Phone 8.1 devices.
- Today’s update of HERE Drive+ for Windows Phone brings voice-guided navigation for 18 new countries and territories: Algeria, Angola*, Bangladesh*, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Cyprus, Iraq, Libya, Mauritania, Mauritius, Nepal*, Paraguay, Saint Helena, Senegal*, Sri Lanka*, Suriname*, Zambia*, Zimbabwe*. This brings the total number of freely navigable countries to 118. (*Note Not all the roads in these countries have been mapped yet. You can use HERE, but full navigation won’t be available there.)
- Stability and performance improvements across all the HERE apps
- Introduction of HERE accounts which means if you have been using a Nokia account, its time for you to move on and create a HERE account. You can import your collection of favorites from Nokia account to HERE account.
