Microsoft MWC 2015

We are pretty close to MWC 2015 event & infact MS is expected to take stage tomorrow. MWC is all about Mobiles & Microsofts presence at MWC definitely means more Lumias.

After the cancellation of flagship McLaren last year, MS has been rather silent & all focus has shifted to the mid & low-end segment. Of-course complete focus towards the low-end segment is not what many would appreciate but that definitely has yielded results for MS with increase in volume share of the Lumias.

The best bet in the market says that a high-end device from MS is only expected to launch with Windows 10 and thats approx. 5 to 6 months from now.

MWC happens tomorrow and a couple of devices from MS are expected. A Lumia 1320 & Lumia 630/635 successor are on the cards, if the rumors are to believed.

Now if you keep aside rumors and look at the AdDuplex stats for Feb then below devices are expected to make appearance

  • RM-1031 This is the Microsoft Lumia 532 which launched in India recently. A 4.0 inch Lumia with Quadcore processor & 1GB of RAM. The device or a variant of it might see a global release at MWC.
  • RM-1062/1063 (AT&T)/1064/1065/1066/1077 This is the rumored Lumia 1320 successor with 5.7 inch display and HD resolution. Other rumored specs include:
    • 14MP PureView Rear Camera
    • 5MP Front Facing Camera
    • 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 Quadcore Processor
    • 1GB RAM
    • 32GB Internal Storage
    • Dual-SIM and LTE Variants
    • May be called Lumia 1330/35
  • RM-1072/1073 (AT&T)/1074/1075/1076/1077 This is the rumored Lumia 630/635 successor with 5.0 inch display and HD resolution. Other rumored specs include:
    • 8.7MP PureView Rear Camera
    • 0.9MP Front Facing Camera
    • 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 Quadcore Processor
    • 2500 mAh Battery
    • 1GB RAM
    • 8GB Internal Storage with MicroSD card support
    • Dual-SIM and LTE Variants
    • May be called Lumia 640/645
  • RM-1109/1113 Expected to be a variant of RM-1072 for Brazil.

If Lumia 1330 & Lumia 640 become real then we are looking at some best buy Lumias from Microsoft in the mid-range segment. These devices are also examples of how MS might be thinking of bringing high-end features like PureView and Wireless charging support to the mid & low-range segment.

MS has been quite successful in the low-end segment with devices like Lumia 520, Lumia 630, Lumia 530 etc and with devices like Lumia 1330 & Lumia 640, MS is now aiming at strengthening its presence in mid-range. A good move until the high-end Lumias are out.
